### **Product Datasheet: Alloy X / Inconel® HX Sheet (UNS N06002)** **Alloy X** (commercially known as **Inconel® HX** and standardized as **UNS N06002**) is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum superalloy specifically engineered for extreme high-temperature service. This solid-solution strengthened alloy demonstrates exceptional resistance to oxidation, carburization, and other corrosive environments while maintaining high strength at temperatures up to 1200°C (2200°F). The **sheet** product form of Inconel HX is characterized by its excellent formability and weldability, making it ideal for fabricating complex components through cutting, bending, and welding processes. Available in various thicknesses, it serves as a versatile material for constructing high-temperature systems across multiple industries. --- ### **1. Chemical Composition** The typical chemical composition of Inconel HX (UNS N06002) sheet conforms to the following specifications (balance is Nickel): | Element | Content (%) | | :--- | :--- | | **Nickel (Ni)** | Balance | | **Chromium (Cr)** | 20.5 - 23.0 | | **Iron (Fe)** | 17.0 - 20.0 | | **Molybdenum (Mo)** | 8.0 - 10.0 | | **Cobalt (Co)** | 0.5 - 2.5 | | **Tungsten (W)** | 0.2 - 1.0 | | **Carbon (C)** | 0.05 - 0.15 | | **Manganese (Mn)** | ≤ 1.00 | | **Silicon (Si)** | ≤ 1.00 | | **Phosphorus (P)** | ≤ 0.040 | | **Sulfur (S)** | ≤ 0.030 | | **Boron (B)** | ≤ 0.010 | * **Functional Significance of Key Elements:** * **Ni (Nickel)**: Forms the austenitic matrix, providing fundamental corrosion resistance and thermal stability. * **Cr (Chromium)**: Imparts superior oxidation and sulfidation resistance through protective oxide layer formation. * **Mo & W (Molybdenum & Tungsten)**: Enhance solid-solution strengthening, particularly for high-temperature creep resistance. * **C (Carbon)**: Contributes to elevated temperature strength through solid solution mechanisms. --- ### **2. Physical Properties** Characteristic physical properties for Inconel HX sheet at ambient temperature: | Property | Metric Value | Imperial Value | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Density** | 8.22 g/cm³ | 0.297 lb/in³ | | **Melting Point** | 1260 - 1355 °C | 2300 - 2475 °F | | **Specific Heat (20°C)** | 455 J/kg·K | 0.109 Btu/lb·°F | | **Thermal Conductivity (20°C)** | 11.9 W/m·K | 82.7 Btu·in/hr·ft²·°F | | **Mean Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (20-1000°C)** | 14.0 μm/m·°C | 7.8 x10⁻⁶ in/in·°F | | **Modulus of Elasticity** | 205 GPa | 29.7 x 10⁶ psi | --- ### **3.
