**Technical Datasheet: Alloy 800HT / Incoloy 800HT Welding Rod (UNS N08811)** --- ### **1.0 Product Overview** **Alloy 800HT Welding Rod** (commercially known as **Incoloy 800HT Welding Rod**, UNS **N08811**) is a premium welding consumable specifically formulated for joining and repairing Alloy 800HT components in high-temperature service environments. Designed to match the base metal's enhanced chemistry with controlled carbon content (0.06–0.10%) and elevated aluminum+titanium (Al + Ti ≥ 1.20%), this welding rod delivers superior creep rupture strength, oxidation resistance, and microstructural stability at temperatures up to 815°C (1500°F). Available in both bare rod and covered electrode forms. --- ### **2.0 Chemical Composition (wt%)** | Element | ERNiCrFe-8 (AWS A5.14) | ENiCrFe-8 (AWS A5.11) | Role in Weld Metal | |---------|--------------------------|------------------------|---------------------| | **Nickel (Ni)** | ≥62.0 | ≥62.0 | Austenitic matrix formation | | **Chromium (Cr)** | 28.0–32.0 | 28.0–32.0 | Oxidation resistance | | **Iron (Fe)** | 7.0–11.0 | 7.0–11.0 | Balance element | | **Carbon (C)** | 0.08–0.12 | 0.08–0.12 | Creep strength enhancement | | **Manganese (Mn)** | 2.5–3.5 | 2.5–3.5 | Deoxidation | | **Silicon (Si)** | 0.10–0.50 | 0.10–0.50 | Wetting and fluidity | | **Aluminum (Al)** | 0.10–0.30 | 0.10–0.30 | Deoxidation | | **Titanium (Ti)** | 0.10–0.30 | 0.10–0.30 | Stabilization | | **Niobium (Nb)** | 0.50–1.0 | 0.50–1.0 | Hot cracking resistance | | **Phosphorus (P)** | ≤0.015 | ≤0.015 | Impurity control | | **Sulfur (S)** | ≤0.015 | ≤0.015 | Impurity control | --- ### **3.0 Physical Properties** | Property | Value | Condition | |----------|-------|-----------| | **Density** | 8.0 g/cm³ | RT | | **Melting Point** | 1375°C | — | | **Thermal Expansion** | 16.8 × 10⁻⁶ /K | 20–650°C | | **Thermal Conductivity** | 14.5 W/m·K | 21°C | | **Electrical Resistivity** | 120 μΩ·cm | 21°C | | **Modulus of Elasticity** | 195 GPa | RT | --- ### **4.0 Mechanical Properties** **As-Welded Condition (Typical)** - **Tensile Strength:** 550–650 MPa - **Yield Strength (0.2% Offset):** 300–400 MPa - **Elongation:** 30–40% - **Impact Toughness:** 80–120 J (Charpy V-notch, 21°C) **Post-Weld Heat Treated Condition** - **Tensile Strength:** 500–600 MPa - **Yield Strength:** 250–350 MPa - **Elongation:** 35–45% --- ### **5.0 International Standards** | Standard Type | Standard Number | Description | |--------------|----------------|-------------| | **AWS** | A5.14 | ERNiCrFe-8 (Bare Rod) | | **AWS** | A5.11 | ENiCrFe-8 (Covered Electrode) | | **ASME** | SFA-5.14 | ERNiCrFe-8 (BPVC Section II) | | **ASME** | SFA-5.11 | ENiCrFe-8 (BPVC Section II) | | **ISO** | 18274 | NiCr29Fe8 | | **EN** | 1600 | Ni 6082 | --- ### **6.0 Product Specifications** **Bare Rod (ERNiCrFe-8)** - **Diameter Range:** 1.6–6.0 mm - **Length:** 1000 mm standard - **Surface Finish:** Bright or cleaned - **Packaging:** Bundle or individual packing **Covered Electrode (ENiCrFe-8)** - **Diameter Range:** 2.0–6.0 mm - **Length:** 350 mm, 450 mm - **Coating Type:** Lime-based (basic) - **Packaging:** Hermetic containers --- ### **7.0 Applications** **Welding Processes** - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) - Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) - Plasma Arc Welding (PAW) **Industry Applications** - Petrochemical reformer furnaces - Ethylene cracking coils - Power generation boilers - Nuclear components - Chemical process vessels --- ### **8.0 Welding Characteristics** **Operating Parameters** | Process | Current | Polarity | Shielding Gas | |---------|---------|----------|---------------| | **GTAW** | 80–180 A | DCEN | Argon/Helium | | **SMAW** | 90–160 A | DCEP | — | **Welding Positions** - All positions (covered electrodes) - Flat and horizontal (bare rod) --- ### **9.0 Quality Assurance** **Testing & Certification** - AWS A5.14/A5.11 compliant - Chemical analysis certification - Mechanical testing reports - Radiographic test qualified **Storage & Handling** - Dry storage conditions - Electrode baking: 300–350°C - Low humidity environment --- ### **10.0 Advantages** - Matched properties with Alloy 800HT base metal - Excellent high-temperature performance - Superior creep and oxidation resistance - Code compliance for critical applications --- **Contact Information** For technical specifications and welding procedures, contact our technical department.
