### **Technical Datasheet: Nickel 201 Rod (UNS N02201)**
#### **1. Product Overview**
**Nickel 201 Rod** (commercially known as **Alloy 201 Rod**) is a wrought product form manufactured from low-carbon commercially pure nickel. This grade is specifically engineered with a maximum carbon content of 0.02% to prevent embrittlement in high-temperature applications, making it the superior choice over Nickel 200 for service temperatures exceeding **315°C (600°F)**.
Nickel 201 Rod retains all the beneficial properties of pure nickel – including excellent corrosion resistance, high thermal and electrical conductivity, and good mechanical properties – while providing enhanced performance and structural stability in elevated temperature environments. The rod form is particularly suited for machining into high-temperature components and fasteners.
#### **2. Chemical Composition (% Weight)**
The controlled low carbon content distinguishes Nickel 201 from Nickel 200.
| Element | Content (%) (ASTM B160) | Content (%) (Typical) |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| **Nickel (Ni)** | 99.0 min | ≥ 99.6 |
| **Carbon (C)** | **0.02 max** | **0.01** |
| **Manganese (Mn)** | 0.35 max | 0.20 |
| **Iron (Fe)** | 0.40 max | 0.20 |
| **Copper (Cu)** | 0.25 max | 0.15 |
| **Silicon (Si)** | 0.35 max | 0.15 |
| **Sulfur (S)** | 0.01 max | 0.005 |
